Early in the morning, we will transfer you to El Alto Airport for your flight to Uyuni. Upon arrival, our team will warmly welcome you before starting this extraordinary day filled with unique landscapes and unforgettable experiences.
We begin our journey in the picturesque town of Uyuni, once an important railway hub between Argentina, Chile, and Bolivia. Today, its remains stand as a testimony to a glorious past.
The first visit will be to the Train Station and its colorful local market, followed by the fascinating Train Cemetery, an open-air museum where old rusted locomotives rest under the highland sky — a place filled with history and nostalgia, perfect for taking unique photographs.
Next, we will enter the majestic Uyuni Salt Flats, where we’ll observe the haracteristic salt mounds traditionally extracted and dried by local workers. We’ll visit emblematic sites such as the Salt Labyrinth, large salt sculptures, and the iconic Stairway to Heaven, an impressive artwork by the renowned Bolivian artist Gastón Ugalde.
Our next stop is Playa Blanca, home to the first hotel built entirely of salt. From there, we’ll continue to the surprising Incahuasi Island, a fossil coral island covered with giant cacti. A short panoramic walk to its summit offers an unforgettable 360° view of the immense salt flat.
Lunch will be served in the middle of the Uyuni Salt Flats, giving you time to capture creative photos and feel the unique energy of this surreal landscape.
In the afternoon, we continue our route across the vast white expanse. Along the way, we may find water eyes (small saltwater pools) before reaching the edges of the salt flats to witness an unforgettable sunset. During the rainy season, the sky reflects perfectly on the surface, creating the famous mirror effect — a breathtaking natural phenomenon that turns the landscape into one of the most beautiful postcards on Earth.
After sunset, we’ll arrive at our hotel in Colchani for dinner. Later, we’ll enjoy a truly magical experience on a stargazing tour, as the Uyuni Salt Flats are recognized as one of the best places on the planet to observe the night sky. If conditions allow, you’ll witness an unparalleled spectacle — the reflection of the stars on the salt flats will make you feel as if you’re walking in the sky.
