Upon arrival in Uyuni, our team will warmly welcome you and accompany you for breakfast before starting this extraordinary day. We begin our tour in the charming town of Uyuni, once an important railway hub connecting Argentina, Chile, and Bolivia. Today, its remains stand as a testament to a glorious era.
Our first visit will be the Train Station and its colorful local market, followed by the fascinating Train Cemetery — an open-air museum where old rusted locomotives rest beneath the vast highland sky. This evocative setting is perfect for unique photos.
Next, we will venture into the majestic Uyuni Salt Flats, where we’ll observe the characteristic salt mounds hand-harvested by local workers. We’ll visit iconic sites such as the Salt Labyrinth, large salt sculptures, and the famous “Stairway to Heaven,” a remarkable artwork by renowned Bolivian artist Gastón Ugalde.
Our next stop is Playa Blanca, home to the first hotel built entirely of salt. From there, we’ll continue to the amazing Incahuasi Island — a fossilized coral island dotted with giant cacti that offers a short panoramic hike to the summit, where you’ll enjoy an unforgettable 360° view of the vast salt expanse. Lunch will be served in the middle of the salt flats, giving you time to take creative photos and absorb the surreal energy of this landscape.
We’ll then continue toward Uyuni, crossing the majestic salt flats and their endless white horizon, saying farewell to this dreamlike landscape. Along the way, we may encounter water eyes where salt crystals form, and if time allows, we’ll visit the artisan village of Colchani, ideal for purchasing handmade souvenirs from the salt. Finally, you’ll be transferred to the bus terminal for your return trip to La Paz.
