Upon arrival in Uyuni, our team will warmly
welcome you and accompany you for breakfast before beginning this extraordinary
day. Our journey starts in the charming town of Uyuni, once an important
railway hub connecting Argentina, Chile, and Bolivia. Today, its remains stand
as a testament to a glorious era.
Our first visit will be the Train Station and its colorful local market, followed by the fascinating Train Cemetery—an open-air museum where ancient, rusted locomotives rest beneath the vast Andean sky, perfect for unique photos.
We then venture into the majestic Uyuni Salt Flats, where we’ll see the characteristic salt mounds hand-harvested by local workers. We’ll visit iconic sites such as the Salt Labyrinth, large salt sculptures, and the famous “Stairway to Heaven,” a striking artwork by the renowned Bolivian artist Gastón Ugalde.
Our next stop is Playa Blanca, home to the world’s first hotel built entirely of salt. From there, we continue to the astonishing Incahuasi Island, a fossilized coral island dotted with giant cacti, offering a short panoramic walk to its summit for an unforgettable 360° view of the endless salt expanse.
Lunch will be served in the middle of the salt flats, with time to take creative photos and soak in the surreal energy of this landscape.
In the afternoon, we’ll cross the majestic salt flats and their vast white immensity. Along the way, we may spot water eyes where salt crystals form, before heading to the edges of the flats to witness an unforgettable sunset. During the rainy season, the sky reflects perfectly on the surface, creating the famous mirror effect—a breathtaking natural phenomenon that turns the landscape into one of the world’s most beautiful postcards.
After sunset, we’ll head to our hotel in Colchani for dinner. Later, enjoy a truly magical stargazing experience—Uyuni Salt Flats are known as one of the best places on Earth to admire the night sky. If weather permits, you’ll witness an incomparable spectacle: the stars reflecting on the salt surface, making you feel as if you’re walking among them.
